Bright Umbrella is a small professional theatre company which operates from its own theatre, The Sanctuary Theatre in East Belfast. We are affiliated to Equity and pay our actors and creatives at Equity Union rates - never less than Equity minimum, sometimes more according to budgets available to us. We produce our own shows and receive visiting shows (amatuer and professional). 

From time to time we organise funded, unpaid community productions, these generally have cross community and good relations aims. We hold open auditions and recruit actors through local and UK wide talent agencies.

The Sanctuary Theatre is housed in an old church - one of the oldest buildings in East Belfast.  We have two spaces - our 50 seat Studio and licensed bar and our 120 seat main space.  It's a quirky and welcoming atmosphere!
