Bright Umbrella is a professional theatre company which operates from its own theatre, The Sanctuary Theatre in East Belfast. We produce our own shows and receive visiting shows (amateur and professional).  We hold open auditions and recruit actors through local and UK wide talent agencies.  The Sanctuary Theatre is housed in an old church - one of the oldest buildings in East Belfast.  We have two spaces - our 50 seat Studio and licensed bar and our 120 seat main space.  It's a quirky and welcoming atmosphere !  In June 2026 we will 'go dark' to allow for renovations funded by the Belfast City Council administered 'Peace+' EU funding programme.  Keep an eye on our social media and website and you won’t miss much in terms of calls and show information!
